At CIEL, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our Members and visitors to our web site. Here you’ll find information on how we treat data that we collect from visitors to our website and our Members.

VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE
When someone visits www.cielivestock.co.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. You can find more information on how cookies are used on this website in our Cookies Policy. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will clearly state this, for example in the form of a sign up page to download specific reports, which will ask for your contact details. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it, how we will store it and how long we intend to store it for.

NEWSLETTERS – Currently reserved for our Members
Should we expand this to non-members, please be aware that as part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about new industry developments and CIEL activity; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to ask your views on the membership offer and centre focus. We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. We use a third-party provider to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.  You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing the CIEL team at [email protected].

This privacy policy does not cover links from within this site to third party websites. We take no responsibility for the content of any third-party website and our recommendations do not guarantee your safety whilst using them. If you have questions about how one of these sites may track or use your information, you will need to check that site’s privacy statement and contact them separately.

CIEL MEMBER AREA
Our Members have access to a private CIEL Member Area. Personal data stored to allow access: contact details, company information and roles, is used solely for the purpose of granting access to authorised Member users and, where needed, facilitating project delivery. The data is not shared with third-parties or transferred in any other way.

ERP SYSTEM
CIEL maintains a cloud based ERP system – SAP Business ByDesign, cloud-based enterprise resource planning software – that we use to store contact details for our members, subscribers, suppliers and customers. The data held in the database typically includes name, contact details, company, role and a record of contact. This information is used only for the purposes of contacting individuals and companies in regard to the work of CIEL and specific contracts and projects that we are engaged in with them. The data is not shared with third parties, or transferred in any other way, and is not used to generate marketing materials or other forms of communication.
